Carba-Tec

Carba-Tec offers Australia's largest range of tools for wood.

They required expansion of their retail outlets and showrooms onto the internet. There was several Australian stores and a New Zealand store each trading in their local currency with slight price variations on some products. Each store runs its own specials and some stores do not stock some products. The application also required that new stores could be added in the future.

Multiple Stores

Each store has price, discount, tax and availibility overrides for products. Each store also has content page and banner overrides. This allows the site administrators great flexibility when managing the variations between the different stores.

A custom administration was implemented in order to support the range of additional options.

Ecommerce Customisations

Although the core is based on Open Source software, there have been many extensions and modifications to make the application meet the needs of the company and it's customers. Some of these enhancements include the ability to add multiple related items to your cart at once, printing the page to a pdf and larger images appearing in a lightbox layer instead of a popup.

Clock Builder

This custom page replaces one of the category pages to allow the visitor to build a clock using the products available in the appropriate categories. On each selection the product image is updated to include the part just added. After selecting all the required parts the item will be available to add to shopping cart and checkout.
